Forwards Jade Downie-Landry and Alexandra Labelle to remain with Montreal Victoire

Montreal Victoire general manager Danièle Sauvageau continued to rebuild her team on Saturday, signing forwards Jade Downie-Landry and Alexandra Labelle to contracts.

In a press release, Victoire specified that Downie-Landry had signed a two-year agreement, until the conclusion of the 2027-2028 schedule, while Labelle signed a pact that will cover the 2026-2027 season.

These signings were made during phase 5 of the player allocation process as part of the LPHF expansion, which offers existing teams an exclusive period to renew the contracts of their players whose agreements are expiring for the 2026-2027 season.

Downie-Landry scored two goals in 23 games during his first season with the Victory in 2025-2026, after two seasons with the New York team.

The 30-year-old athlete from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu also played three games in the last playoffs that led to the first Walter Victory Cup championship.

In 77 career games in the LPHF, the former McGill University Martlets player has scored 14 goals and added seven assists, in addition to posting a 51 per cent faceoff win percentage.

For his part, Labelle collected four assists in 28 games with Victoire in 2025-2026, in addition to winning 55.2 per cent of his faceoffs.

In 71 career games in the LPHF, the former University of Montreal Carabins player has scored two goals and collected nine assists.

The 30-year-old athlete from Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague also played in all nine of the Victory playoff games this spring, maintaining a faceoff percentage of 58.5 per cent.

In addition, Victoire lost a forward on Saturday when Dara Greig accepted a two-year contract with the Ottawa Charge.

Greig, whose brother Ridly plays for the Ottawa Senators, joins the Charge after collecting five points, including three goals, in 29 games with the Montreal team in 2025-2026.

In 58 career games in the LPHF, all with a victory, Greig, a 25-year-old American from New Jersey, has scored three goals and eight points.

La Victoire currently has 13 players under contract for the next season, including forwards Marie-Philip Poulin, Laura Stacey, Lina Ljungblom, Abby Roque, Catherine Dubois and Kaitlin Willoughby, defenders Maggie Flaherty, Kati Tabin, Jessica DiGirolamo, Nadia Mattivi and goalkeeper Ann-Renée Desbiens.
