Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel closed fully Thursday night

Transport Quebec announced that Highway 25, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel, will be fully closed Thursday night for adjustments to the safety equipment.

Partial closures will also affect Souligny Avenue Thursday and Friday nights.

The closure will be in place from 10 p.m. on Thursday until 5 a.m. on Friday along Highway 25 between exit 5 — Route 138, Hochelaga Street, Sherbrooke Street — and the entrance from Charron Island heading towards the South Shore.

The entrance ramps will close half an hour earlier.

Souligny Avenue will be closed in the east bound direction between Dickson Street and Honoré-Beaugrand Street between 9:30 p.m. on Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday.

The road will be closed in the west bound direction between Honoré-Beaugrand Street and Dickson Street from 9:30 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.

Transport Quebec is reminding all drivers to check Québec 511 before hitting the roads. Additionally, the work may be postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
