A Montreal police cruiser and a firetruck were damaged after colliding while responding to a fire in the city’s Sainte-Marie neighbourhood late Tuesday night.
Montreal police said the crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ontario and Frontenac streets.
According to authorities, both emergency vehicles were heading to the scene of a blaze with their sirens activated when the collision occurred.
Two police officers were taken to hospital as a precaution, police said. No firefighters were injured.
The extent of the damage to the vehicles was not immediately known.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
