The BC Supreme Court has denied an injunction to keep the Vancouver Aquatic Centre open.
The ‘Protecting Our Vancouver Aquatic Centre Society’ has been fighting with the city and the Vancouver Park Board over the new facility’s design.
The society wants a 50-metre pool, but there are plans for only a 25-metre pool in the new faculty.
The Vancouver Aquatic Centre will be shut down this Sunday, and demolition will start soon after.
Construction on the new facility will begin later this year.
