In the 5th World Cup match here at BC Place, Belgium fans are going home happy after they beat New Zealand 5-1 in a pivotal Group G match.
Thousands of fans marched down Pacific Boulevard to fill BC Place to soak in the atmosphere and to witness the beautiful game.
“It was so packed in there, bunch of goals today, it was really a goal show,” said one fan.
“It is a good way for Belgium because they needed first place. They need to score at least three goals to win by three goals, and they got it done. They finished first in their group.”
“That was crazy; there was like a bunch of people and all the goals that were scored, it was just like crazy. It was raining goals,” said another teenage fan, attending the game at BC Place.

“It was eccentric. Words can’t even define how crazy it was in there. There was goal after goal. It was a serious, serious experience. I really appreciate it, Vancouver,” said two friends covered in a Belgium flag.
“It was a very shaky start, to be honest. If they didn’t show today, then I don’t know how they were doing in the knock-out stage, but I think they’ll do pretty well.”
“I got to share the experience with my son, see all those goals! We flew in this morning from Edmonton, so this is awesome, said a happy father.
“Amazing, we watched Romelu Lukaku score; he is the best player ever,” said fans of the Belgium goal scorer.

“Belgium is winning the World Cup. Watch now,” said another very proud teenager fan of the team.
With this match in the history books, that wraps up all of the group stage matches to be played in Vancouver.
The next match at BC Place will be the round of 32, and that takes place the day after Canada Day on July 2.
