Rainbow crosswalk defaced in Langley, police say

Langley RCMP says that a newly painted rainbow crosswalk at Mary Street and Glover Road in Fort Langley was purposely damaged.

The crosswalk was recently installed on June 22.

Video surveillance has identified three teens on electric dirt bikes vandalizing the crosswalk.

“Police are releasing photographs of the individuals and the electric dirt bikes involved in hopes that members of the public may be able to assist investigators in identifying those responsible,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP.

Police say the installation of the crosswalk was meant to be “a symbol of inclusion, diversity, and community pride.”

Anyone able to provide officers with information is asked to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 and reference file 2026-19678.
