A motorcyclist died Friday after hitting a car in Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
Authorities were called to the scene of the accident around 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning. The collision, which involved a car and a motorcycle, took place at the intersection of Route 132 and Route 273 in Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly.
“According to initial information, the motorcyclist had been seriously injured,” said Élizabeth Marquis-Guy, information officer for the Sûreté du Québec. “The motorcyclist had been transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead a little later.”
Marquis-Guy indicated that de l’Église Street has been closed to traffic and that a detour has been set up by the municipality.
A collision reconstructionist went to the scene Friday to better understand the causes and circumstances surrounding the event.
An investigation is still ongoing.
