Kane Carter Receives Double Murder Conviction in Second-Degree Case

Kane Carter, convicted of the murders of 15-year-old Alfred Wong and 23-year-old Kevin Whiteside, has finally received his sentencing after seven and a half years. The BC Prosecution Service confirmed on Thursday that Carter has been given concurrent lifetime jail terms with the possibility of parole after 17 years for both counts.

Additionally, the court has imposed a lifetime ban on firearms, a DNA order, and a $200 victim fine surcharge on Carter. The tragic incident took place in Vancouver in January 2018 when Carter, believed to be affiliated with gangs, targeted a rival at a restaurant in Mount Pleasant. Following his arrest in Ontario in 2022, Carter faced a retrial that commenced in October 2025 due to a deadlocked jury in his initial trial.

After a long legal battle, Carter was ultimately convicted in December 2025 for the heinous crimes he committed.
