Tragedy struck near Knight Inlet on the coast of British Columbia when a helicopter accident claimed the lives of a pilot and a crew member. The incident occurred during forestry operations in Loughborough Inlet, as disclosed by West Coast Helicopters in a social media update on Wednesday.
According to the company’s statement, their Hughes 500 helicopter crashed at 6:15 a.m. with a pilot and two individuals onboard. Regrettably, only one person survived, while the other two tragically lost their lives.
Following the tragic event, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada announced that a team of investigators would be dispatched to the location to gather information and evaluate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
