A young man from Toronto is in hot water after Durham Regional Police engaged in a dramatic pursuit in Oshawa last week.
The chain of events unfolded when officers spotted a driver in an Acura sedan exhibiting reckless behavior near Coldstream Drive and Ritson Road.
Instead of stopping, the male driver decided to make a run for it. In a desperate attempt to escape, he lost control of his vehicle and collided with two parked cars. He then tried to flee on foot but was swiftly apprehended by law enforcement.
Israel Barnes, aged 21, now faces a slew of charges including dangerous driving, stunt driving, evading police, running a stop sign, and driving with an improper license. Despite the gravity of the situation, he has been released on certain conditions.
