Authorities from York Regional Police (YRP) are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect linked to two incidents of indecent behavior in Markham over the weekend.
According to reports, an individual was walking near Hillcroft Drive and Gillingham Avenue at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Friday when a partially clothed suspect began trailing them on foot. The suspect quickly fled the scene once the victim contacted the authorities.
The following day, another incident involving the same suspect occurred at around 1 a.m. A person walking in the vicinity of Marydale Avenue and Elson Street was approached by the suspect, who proceeded to expose himself before fleeing in the direction of Markham Road.
Described as a male standing at five feet six inches tall, with black curly hair and glasses, the suspect remains at large.
YRP urges anyone who may have been in the vicinity during either incident or possesses information pertinent to the case to come forward and assist with the investigation.
In a statement, YRP emphasized the importance of vigilance while walking alone at night and encouraged prompt reporting of any suspicious activities by dialing 9-1-1.
