Today, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued a yellow warning for a severe thunderstorm in Montreal. This warning indicates the potential for strong gusts, heavy rain, and even tornadoes in the area later this afternoon and evening.
ECCC forecasts suggest that residents should be prepared for thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds and flash floods. It is advised to stay indoors during thunder and lightning to avoid any potential dangers, as these weather conditions can be life-threatening.
Additionally, the forecasters caution against being out on bodies of water during thunderstorms to ensure personal safety. The severe weather could lead to damage to structures such as roofs, fences, branches, or soft shelters.
