Blaze Tears Through Scarborough Plaza, Vehicles Engulfed by Flames Overnight

Early Wednesday, Toronto fire crews swiftly extinguished a fire that began with a vehicle blaze and spread to a two-story commercial and industrial complex on Eglinton Avenue East.

Toronto Fire Services received the call at 2:27 a.m. reporting a vehicle on fire at 2390 Eglinton Ave. E., close to Ionview Road and Kennedy Road. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the fire had reached the building from the vehicle.

The situation was escalated to a Level 2 alarm, prompting additional crews to respond. Firefighters managed to contain the flames efficiently, preventing extensive damage to the plaza.

Two individuals were treated by Toronto paramedics on site, but both were deemed not in need of hospitalization.

Authorities have stated that, at present, there are no signs of suspicious activity related to the fire.
