The family of Quebec actor Marc Messier has launched a public online condolence book, inviting fans and members of the public to share messages in his memory.
The family is also encouraging those who wish to honour Messier to make donations to the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation, saying its mission reflects the values he held throughout his life.
“Marc Messier said he owed a lot to the sports of his childhood. We are humbled by his family’s desire to carry on this legacy by giving young people access to sport and the benefits it provides. Honouring his memory in this way will help to grow the passion and generosity that he carried,” said Geneviève Paquette, President and CEO of the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation. “On behalf of the entire Foundation team, I offer my most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.”
The Government of Quebec will also honour Messier by lowering their flag to half-mast.
“We would like to inform you that following the death of Quebec actor Marc Messier, the flag of Quebec will be flown at half-mast on the main tower of the Parliament Building on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from sunrise to dusk, in order to express the sympathy of the government and the people of Quebec to the family and loved ones.”
Donations can be made online or by mail by indicating they are being made “In memory of Marc Messier.”
