Two men have been arrested in connection with an alleged arson attack that heavily damaged a family home in Laval’s Sainte-Dorothée neighbourhood earlier this year.
The fire broke out on Boudreau Street on April 25, prompting a response from the Laval Fire Department and Laval police. Investigators allege two suspects intentionally set the residence on fire before one fled the scene. The second suspect suffered severe burns in the blaze and was transported to hospital.
Following an investigation by the Laval Police Service’s Crimes Against Property Squad, Simon Hudon, 42, and Ayoub-Éliasse Saad, 23, were arrested on July 15 with assistance from the Montreal police (SPVM).
The pair face charges including possession of incendiary material, conspiracy to commit a criminal offence and arson endangering human life. They are scheduled to return to court on Sept. 30.
