Investigators are currently at the scene of a serious accident involving a pedestrian on Highway 10 in Cloverdale, as confirmed by the Surrey Police Service (SPS) on Friday morning.
According to the latest update from the police, the incident led to the closure of the highway near 156 Street in both directions shortly after midnight.
While the westbound traffic has since resumed at 6:30 a.m., the eastbound lanes remain inaccessible at this time.
The SPS has assigned its Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) to spearhead the inquiry into the matter.
Authorities have assured that additional information will be disclosed later in the morning. Efforts to obtain further details from BC Emergency Health Services are currently underway.
