A 35-year-old man from Coquitlam is facing multiple firearms-related charges after an extensive investigation conducted by the Illegal Firearm Enforcement Team (IFET) of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC).
Following a targeted operation, the man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was the subject of an arrest warrant issued in June. On July 16, law enforcement officers executed search warrants at locations in Coquitlam and Surrey linked to the ongoing investigation.
During the search, authorities confiscated two firearms – a Beretta 92FS .22-calibre handgun and a Beretta M9A3 9 mm handgun.
The individual in question has been formally charged with firearm offenses and is currently in police custody. A court appearance is scheduled for August 10.
