Peel Regional Police (PRP) enforced the closure of the popular Jambana One World Festival in Brampton on Monday evening due to concerns over crowd capacity and the safety of attendees as they left the fairgrounds.
In a statement released on Monday night, police highlighted their collaboration with event organizers as the large crowds began to exit the Brampton Fairgrounds. To manage the situation and ensure public safety during dispersal, authorities advised the public to stay away from the area and refrain from attending the festival.
Officers were present on the scene to oversee traffic control and crowd management. The Jambana festival, renowned for its celebration of Caribbean culture, music, food, and community spirit, is a significant summer event in Brampton.
Police emphasized that the festival’s closure was a precautionary measure, and no major safety incidents were reported as the crowds dispersed.
