After months of intense investigation, Laval police have made a significant breakthrough in dismantling an organized crime network in the region. The extensive operation, known as Project Daurade, reached its climax on July 28, marking the culmination of a probe that kicked off back in September 2025.
In a series of meticulously planned phases, law enforcement officers conducted raids on residences, a business establishment, and vehicles across Laval, Montreal, and Lanaudière. Shockingly, authorities discovered that a seemingly innocuous restaurant had been serving as a hub for drug trafficking and money laundering activities orchestrated by the criminal syndicate.
The operation yielded a treasure trove of seized items, including three properties valued at nearly $2.9 million, over half a million dollars in cash, luxury goods and illicit proceeds worth upwards of $300,000, five vehicles, and a staggering 51 kilograms of various narcotics like cannabis, cocaine, MDMA, and methamphetamine. Furthermore, the authorities confiscated firearms, air guns, counterfeit currency, drug manufacturing equipment, and a multitude of cell phones linked to criminal activities.
Numerous suspects were taken into custody during the operation and are anticipated to be charged with drug trafficking offenses. The collaborative effort involved various agencies including Revenu Québec, the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (RACJ), and multiple units of the Laval Police Service.
