Police Crack Major Theft Ring, Recover $800K in Stolen Cargo and Vehicles in Brampton

Peel Regional Police are seeking information to apprehend individuals involved in the theft of nearly $800,000 worth of cargo and commercial vehicles in Brampton.

According to detectives, the investigation stemmed from the discovery of a stolen trailer near Heart Lake Road and Countryside Drive on July 22.

Authorities reported that during a search of the vicinity, law enforcement officers successfully located and recovered four stolen commercial vehicles and trailers totaling around $105,000.

The recovered vehicles comprised a 2015 Volvo VNL tractor, a 2016 Utility Manufacturing trailer, a 1998 Stoughton trailer, and a 2021 Utility Manufacturing trailer.

In addition to the vehicles, investigators unearthed two shipments containing stolen computer equipment valued at approximately $681,083. The equipment was suspected to have been loaded into the stolen trailers following separate theft incidents on July 17 and July 20.

While no suspects have been identified yet, the police are actively investigating the case.
