On Saturday afternoon, a bush fire near the Honeybee Centre at Fraser Highway and Harvie Road in Surrey caught the attention of Surrey Fire Services (SFS), leading to a swift and robust response.
Chief Carl Schmor of SFS mentioned that the fire was reported around 5 p.m., prompting 24 firefighters to jump into action. The fire had already spread across approximately 20 acres, presenting a significant challenge.
Throughout the evening and into the night, firefighters tirelessly worked to contain the blaze, finally gaining control by around 9 a.m. on Sunday. Fortunately, there were no injuries or damage to any structures reported, thanks to the rapid response and efforts of the firefighters.
Support from the Surrey Police Service was crucial in managing the situation, as they provided traffic control in the vicinity while the firefighters fought the flames.
As investigations continue, the cause of the fire remains undisclosed, leaving many questions unanswered.
