On Monday afternoon, a heartwarming rescue took place in Toronto’s Roncesvalles neighborhood as emergency responders saved a person and their loyal dog from a house fire.
The incident unfolded on Ritchie Avenue, close to Dundas Street and Roncesvalles Avenue, around 3 p.m. The trapped individual and their canine companion were stuck on the second floor of the residence when firefighters swiftly arrived and successfully brought them to safety.
Thanks to the quick action of the crews, the fire was contained to a single unit and extinguished without further spread.
Fortunately, the victim, along with their furry friend, were taken to a hospital for evaluation and are reported to be in stable condition. There were no other reported injuries from the incident.
Authorities are actively investigating the cause and origin of the fire to determine what led to this rescue operation.
