Commuters using the Fabre metro station on the Blue line should be prepared for some changes as the main entrance undergoes construction work lasting until 2028, starting this week.
The Société de transport de Montréal (STM) has announced that extensive renovation will take place on the fixed staircases and the concrete slab of the primary kiosk. Additionally, a new substation will be constructed near the station to support the Blue line extension over this period.
During the closure of the main entrance, passengers are advised to use Entrance B, conveniently situated at the corner of Jean-Talon and Fabre streets.
Amid the construction, adjustments will be made to the bus stops at the station in two phases. The initial phase will begin this week and last for four weeks, with the second phase scheduled from September 2026 to the winter of 2028.
Specifically, the stop for the 45 Papineau line will be temporarily relocated south of the intersection with Jean-Talon Street this week. Furthermore, starting next month, the 93 bus line will also be shifted to Jean-Talon Street.
