Montreal authorities are currently looking into allegations of sexual misconduct involving a young girl who was a participant at a day camp in Ahuntsic–Cartierville last month.
According to the SPVM, a minor who was employed as a camp staff member is the main suspect in this case. The individual has been questioned by investigators, and the police are actively seeking and analyzing additional information to progress with the investigation.
The age of both the victim and the suspect has not been disclosed by authorities.
Acknowledging the potential concerns of parents with children attending the day camp, the police advised in a statement to CityNews, “We understand that this news may cause concern for the parents of children enrolled at this day camp.” In response, the camp administration has encouraged parents to reach out with any inquiries or worries.
The SPVM’s sexual assault division is currently conducting a thorough criminal investigation into the matter.
Various media reports have identified the day camp in question as Loisirs Sophie-Barat.
