22-year-old man critically injured in Montreal shooting, potential 17-year-old suspect arrested

A 22-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough Thursday morning.

Montreal police (SPVM) say they received several 911 calls at around 11:45 a.m. reporting gunshots near Henri-Julien and Du Carmel avenues.

Officers found the man behind the wheel of a pickup truck. He was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Shell casings and bullet holes were also found at the scene.

Police located and arrested a potential suspect, a 17-year-old man, not far from the scene.

Investigators are working to understand the circumstances surrounding the attempted murder.
