Get ready for major traffic disruptions this fall in the Montréal metropolitan area as Mobility Montréal announces the key construction sites set to undergo essential maintenance, repair, and upgrades to transportation infrastructure. While these projects are necessary, they will impact travel in the region.
A total of 42 significant projects are scheduled for the upcoming months, with 4 being new additions. Out of the 52 projects revealed last spring, 14 have already been completed. The disruptions from ongoing construction will be staggered over the months ahead, with some works planned during nights and weekends to minimize traffic disturbances. Mobility Montréal and its partners are strategically coordinating project schedules to prevent the simultaneous closure of critical roadways.

Beyond these infrastructure developments, the Montréal metropolitan area will host the UCI Road World Championships in September 2026, leading to substantial road closures across municipal and highway networks.
To navigate these changes, the public is encouraged to plan trips in advance and utilize public transportation whenever possible. A special World Cycling ticket, All modes ABC, will be offered during the UCI Road World Championships.
During the competition days on September 21 and 22, a free park-and-ride lot will operate at the Chevrier parking lot in Brossard. Complimentary shuttles will transport passengers to the Du Quartier du REM station, promoting public transit use and mitigating the impacts of road closures on travel.
