Fiery Truck Blaze Halts Traffic on Hwy. 401 Eastbound Near Winston Churchill

An early morning truck fire caused the eastbound collector lanes of Hwy. 401 at Winston Churchill Boulevard in Mississauga to be completely shut down on Friday.

The fire broke out at approximately 1:58 a.m., leading to a swift emergency response and the closure of the affected section of the highway. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and emergency crews have been diligently working to extinguish the flames and clean up the area.

For safety reasons, the northbound Winston Churchill ramp to the eastbound 401 has also been sealed off to prevent any additional traffic from entering the blocked zone.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently on-site and caution that the closure may persist for several hours while debris is cleared and the road is confirmed safe for reopening.

Motorists traveling eastbound in the Mississauga area are advised to seek alternative routes and brace for delays during their morning commute.
