Early Sunday morning, two separate SUV fires occurred in Montreal, sparking investigations by authorities. The first incident took place at approximately 1 a.m. on Valcourt Street in Saint-Leonard. Montreal firefighters responded quickly to the blaze, which engulfed the parked SUV in a private driveway, resulting in a total loss of the vehicle. While no injuries were reported, incendiary material was discovered at the scene. The investigation has been handed over to the SPVM’s arson squad, with the SUV towed for further examination.
Less than an hour later, around 1:40 a.m., another SUV fire was reported on Saint-Cyr Avenue in Montreal-Est. Similarly, the vehicle was parked in a private driveway and was completely destroyed by the fire. Once again, incendiary material was found at the scene, but there were no injuries or damage to the residence. The SUV was towed for investigation, and no arrests have been made in connection with either incident.
Authorities are currently looking into the fires but have not confirmed any link between the two incidents.
