Montreal and Firefighters Union Reach Tentative Agreement on New Contract
The City of Montreal and the firefighter’s union have successfully reached a tentative agreement on the terms of their new collective bargaining deal, as announced by the City on Tuesday.
Claude Pinard, President of the Montreal Executive Committee, shared that after extensive negotiations with the representatives of the Montreal Firefighters’ Association, a mutually beneficial agreement has been reached.
Pinard emphasized the importance of recognizing the hard work of firefighters while also ensuring the city’s financial responsibilities towards its citizens. The firefighters’ previous contract with the City had expired in January 2024.
Although the specific terms of the agreement have not been made public at this time, members of the union are set to vote on the proposed deal shortly.
