Teen Duo Slapped with 12 Charges in Brazen E-Bike Heist: Firearms and Theft Allegations Mount

Two teenagers are facing multiple charges in connection with the alleged theft of an e-bike in North York.

According to Toronto police, a teenager arranged to meet someone in the Jane Street and Wilson Avenue area on September 8 to purchase an e-bike. After requesting to test drive the e-bike, the teenager reportedly fled the scene with it.

Following the incident, authorities were alerted and were able to apprehend the teenager nearby, along with another teen. Upon their arrest, a firearm was seized along with the stolen e-bike.

After executing a search warrant at a residence in the same vicinity the following day, police discovered a firearm magazine and other related items.

A 17-year-old male is facing seven firearm-related charges, as well as charges of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old male has been charged with three theft-related offences.

Due to legal restrictions, the identities of the accused individuals cannot be disclosed under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
