Local Man Slapped with Hate Crime Charges Over Antisemitic Social Media Rampage

A man from Stoney Creek has been charged with multiple hate crimes after an investigation into disturbing content posted online.

The Hamilton Police Hate Crime Unit initiated the investigation in response to reports of troubling material shared on a social media account in July 2025. Identified as 27-year-old Simran Mander from Stoney Creek, the individual allegedly responsible for the account was taken into custody with the endorsement of Ontario’s Attorney General on Sept. 9.

Mander faces charges including promoting hatred, antisemitism, and advocating genocide, although these allegations have yet to be proven in court.

In a statement released over the weekend, officials emphasized the serious impact of hate crimes on both individuals and communities, reaffirming the police department’s dedication to investigating such incidents and holding perpetrators accountable.
