Toronto police have successfully located and confiscated two dogs linked to a recent violent incident in the Summerhill neighborhood. The attack resulted in injuries to a woman and her pet.
The authorities were initially alerted on Saturday, Sept. 12, to an animal-related issue in the Avenue Road and Roxborough Street vicinity. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the incident occurred two days earlier, on Thursday, Sept. 10, within a nearby park’s off-leash area.
According to police reports, the suspect was present with two dogs inside the secured enclosure when the victim passed by with their leashed dog. The suspect’s dogs managed to escape, leading to an aggressive confrontation that left both the victim and their pet injured. While the victim’s injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, their dog suffered severe harm.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of a woman allegedly involved in the attack, and she was subsequently apprehended.
In a recent development, authorities disclosed that the two dogs implicated in the assault were recovered and taken into custody on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
