A person was swiftly taken to the hospital with significant injuries on Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle in Richmond Hill, as per the local police report.
At approximately 8:40 a.m., emergency response teams were alerted to Major Mackenzie Drive and Forestwood Street following reports of a pedestrian being hit.
The injured pedestrian is reported to be in serious condition, while the driver involved in the incident stayed at the scene.
To facilitate an investigation, Major Mackenzie Drive is set to be shut down from Bayview Avenue to Leslie Street for an extended period.
In a separate incident earlier today, another pedestrian was hit around one kilometer away at the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Spadina Road. Authorities have not yet determined if the two accidents are connected.
