Leading the charge is David Eby and the NDP, who kicked off their campaign at the Canada-U.S. border, emphasizing their stance against Donald Trump. Eby has pledged to ramp up the recruitment of U.S. health-care professionals and entice Canadian doctors working south of the border to return home.
“We’re committed to tripling our efforts in recruiting health-care workers from the U.S. and extending the program to red states,” Eby declared. “We also aim to bring back Canadian health professionals from America who may feel unsettled there.”
However, Eby will be facing the election with fewer allies, as prominent MLA Brenda Bailey joins the ranks of those not seeking re-election.
