A long-serving member of the Ontario Provincial Police is facing charges in relation to a child exploitation case. The OPP’s specialized unit, alongside the Nottawasaga Detachment and Digital Forensics Unit, conducted a search at the residence of a resident in Alliston on June 16, 2026, where various electronic devices were confiscated.
After subsequent inquiries, 54-year-old Chris Weise was taken into custody on Sept. 8 and accused of accessing and possessing materials related to child sexual abuse and exploitation. Weise, a sergeant with 28 years of service in the OPP, is currently on leave for separate reasons, according to an official statement from the OPP.
An appearance to address the charges has been set for Weise at a Bradford court on Oct. 8, 2026.
