Following a tragic helicopter crash on Montreal’s South Shore that claimed the lives of four individuals, a touching tribute was shared on social media by a family member of three of the victims. Océane Pero mourned the loss of her husband Gabriel Jasmin, mother Chantal Raymond, and brother Loucas Perreault, who were onboard the helicopter to celebrate her mother’s birthday when the accident occurred.
Expressing her grief on Facebook, Pero wrote, “On Sept. 26, a part of my world flew away to heaven. I don’t have the words to describe the pain, the shock, and the emptiness I feel. Three people I love more than anything were taken from me far too soon, right before my eyes.” Jasmin, a radio show host at Sherbrooke-based radio station 106.1 Énergie, leaves behind a young daughter with Pero.
The fourth victim, identified as 50-year-old pilot Suzanne Jutras, was also tragically lost in the crash, which took place in the Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville municipality in Montérégie, approximately 50 kilometers southeast of Montreal. An investigation led by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) Major Crimes Unit is currently ongoing, with support from Transportation Safety Board investigators who were present at the site of the incident on Saturday.
