Six families had to leave their homes due to a significant fire that broke out in Montreal’s Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie district on Friday night.

Firefighters were quick to arrive at a three-story building located near Masson Street and 18th Avenue, responding to a two-alarm blaze that ignited around 9:30 p.m.

The fire originated in the building’s ground-floor laundromat before spreading to the upper levels, as explained by Martin Guilbault of the Montreal Fire Department.

Approximately 60 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, and fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

Following the evacuation, residents were provided assistance by the Red Cross to find alternative accommodation.
