Montreal authorities are currently looking into a suspected case of arson at a restaurant in Dollard-des-Ormeaux during the early hours of Monday morning.
Law enforcement officers were alerted to the incident following a 911 call at 2:30 a.m., reporting a fire at the corner of des Sources Boulevard and Brunswick Boulevard.
Upon arrival, firefighters were already on-site and swiftly managed to extinguish the flames.
Preliminary reports suggest that one or more individuals were observed fleeing the vicinity shortly after the fire broke out. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
Police have confirmed the discovery of incendiary materials at the location, further fueling suspicions of deliberate intent.
Authorities plan to scrutinize surveillance footage in a bid to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the blaze.
The investigation is actively ongoing and has been handed over to the Montreal police arson division.
