Following Chris Alexander’s withdrawal from the Toronto mayoral race, new polling data exclusive to CityNews indicates a tightening gap between Olivia Chow and Brad Bradford.
Fresh statistics from Forum Research Inc., released after a recent debate, show Chow leading the race with 46% support among decided and leaning voters, closely followed by Bradford at 42%.
The survey suggests that 12% of respondents are inclined to vote for another candidate.
Conducted on Oct. 6 through telephone surveys with 1,604 randomly chosen Toronto residents aged 18 and above, the poll comes with a margin of error of 2.45%, 19 times out of 20.
Forum Research notes a significant shift in the race compared to their previous poll on Sept. 25, where Chow held an 11-point lead over Bradford.
Alexander’s exit from the race just half an hour before advance voting began has altered the dynamics, setting the stage for a much tighter competition between the top contenders.
