In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a significant fire broke out at a two-storey residential building in the Parc-Extension neighborhood of Montreal, resulting in three individuals being hospitalized.
The Montreal Fire Department (SIM) swiftly responded to a 911 call reporting a possible explosion on Saint-Roch Street near de l’Épée Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Over 100 firefighters were mobilized to combat the blaze, working diligently to bring the situation under control.
Three men sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment, with their conditions reported as stable and not life-threatening. Additionally, approximately 30 residents of the building received assistance from the Canadian Red Cross in the aftermath of the incident.
At present, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing to determine the factors that led to the destructive blaze.
