Toronto Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero Jr. undergoes successful eye surgery to enhance his vision for the upcoming season. The talented first baseman had laser eye surgery performed by Dr. Gabriel Lazcano at the Laser Eye Center of Miami. Guerrero Jr. is reportedly recovering well post-op, as shared on Instagram by the clinic.
Looking to bounce back from a challenging season, Guerrero Jr. had set his sights on a strong follow-up to the Blue Jays’ 2025 World Series aspirations. However, his performance in 2026 fell below expectations, with career lows in key batting statistics including average, on-base percentage, OPS, home runs, and RBIs.
Struggling with his vision, Guerrero Jr. took the step to undergo eye surgery, possibly influenced by his decreased walk count during the season. Despite his personal setbacks, the 27-year-old remains a crucial player for the Blue Jays, who missed the playoffs with a 79-83 record in the latest season.
Guerrero Jr., under a lucrative contract extension, is determined to make a strong comeback in the upcoming season, fueled by improved vision and a desire to lead his team to success on the field.
