Today, the vibrant community of Mount Royal Town gathers for the 11th Cedars Run in honor of the late founder, Dominique Dagenais.
Dominique, a dedicated athlete, embarked on her cancer battle in 2015 and sadly passed away in March 2025. Her legacy lives on through the Dagenais Joly-Smith Fund, established with her husband Stephen and son Maxime, raising over $1.2 million for the DOvEEgene Research Program.
This annual event is not just a run but a heartfelt tribute, with all proceeds directed towards the DOvEEgene Research Program. This program has made remarkable strides, including the creation of a groundbreaking genomic Pap test capable of detecting ovarian and endometrial cancers at stage 1.
Families, friends, healthcare heroes, cancer fighters, and survivors gather to participate in a 2km walk, a thrilling 5km run, or a challenging 10km run, uniting for a cause close to their hearts.
