Longueuil Police Investigating Suspicious Death at Saint-Hubert Cemetery
The Longueuil Police (SPAL) are currently probing a suspicious death that occurred at a cemetery in the Saint-Hubert sector over the weekend.
Upon receiving a call about a vehicle on fire at the Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Blvd. cemetery, police officers swiftly responded at around 9 a.m. It was at this scene that they made a grim discovery – one individual was found dead inside the vehicle, revealed SPAL spokesperson Jacqueline Pierre.
Shortly after this tragic finding, patrol officers managed to apprehend a suspect in the vicinity.
The male suspect, believed to be in his forties, was taken into custody and transported to the police station for questioning by major crimes investigators.
As the investigation unfolds, traffic disruptions are expected in the area, with Sir Wilfrid Laurier Blvd. temporarily shut down between Marquis Park and Édouard Blvd.
