Couple Snared in Major Drug Trafficking Sting

Two Toronto residents are facing legal trouble after being apprehended by police in connection with drug trafficking activities in North York.

The arrests took place on August 12, 2025, near Sheppard Avenue and Don Mills Road during a targeted operation by law enforcement.

The individuals in question were allegedly engaged in drug trafficking at separate locations. During the operation, police arrested a woman at the first site and confiscated two grams of cocaine along with two iPhones.

At the second location, officers arrested a man and seized a loaded semi-automatic handgun, 130 grams of cocaine, crack cocaine, cash, and various drug paraphernalia.

Kayla Andrea Schetakis, 31, from Toronto, faces charges related to the incident and was set to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on August 13, 2025.

Brandon Bernard-Ricketts, 30, also from Toronto, is similarly charged in connection with the drug trafficking investigation and was scheduled to appear in court on the same day.
