Authorities are conducting an investigation following the discovery of human remains in a secluded area of the Bruce Peninsula.
The Ontario Provincial Police were alerted on Thursday when archaeologists working in the region west of Parry Sound near the Georgian Bay stumbled upon the remains.
After consulting with forensic specialists and a coroner, police revisited the site on Friday to initiate a thorough examination.
The OPP has retrieved the remains for further analysis and has confirmed that no additional remains were found at the location.
The investigation has now been handed over to the coroner’s office with the support of the OPP.
