Montreal on High Alert as Police Probe Gunfire in Saint-Leonard

Montreal authorities are currently probing a shooting incident that occurred late Tuesday night in the Saint-Leonard area of the city.

The Montreal Police received a distress call at approximately 11:35 p.m. reporting multiple gunshots heard near the crossroads of Liénart and La Dauversière streets.

Caroline Chèvrefils, the spokesperson for the Montreal Police, stated, “Upon arrival, officers did not find any victims or suspects, but discovered several shell casings at the scene.”

Preliminary investigations suggest that one or more assailants fired shots before fleeing the area.

As part of the ongoing probe, a security perimeter has been established to secure and examine the location, with the Montreal Police’s K-9 unit being deployed for assistance.

At present, no individuals have been apprehended in connection with the incident, and the investigation remains active.
