Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to visit Montreal on Wednesday for a series of important economic discussions.
During his visit, Carney will meet with Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante in the early afternoon, followed by a meeting with Premier François Legault in the evening.
In between these meetings, Carney will engage in a roundtable discussion focusing on artificial intelligence and innovation, as well as hold discussions with key business leaders.
Earlier this week, Carney also met with Ontario Premier Doug Ford in Ottawa to address pressing issues, particularly concerning U.S. tariffs. Both leaders emphasized the importance of enhancing Canada’s global competitiveness, prioritizing this over immediate trade negotiations with the United States.
The official schedule for Carney’s visit does not specify the exact topics to be covered in his discussions with Mayor Plante and Premier Legault.
