Man charged after woman groped on Vancouver bus: transit police

The BC Prosecution Service has charged a man with sexual assault after he allegedly groped a woman on a crowded Vancouver 99-B Line bus in June.

The incident happened on June 9, just after 8 a.m., on a bus travelling along West Broadway.

Police allege the man, a stranger to the victim, boarded the bus, stood directly behind the woman, and made inappropriate sexual contact.

“Two female bystanders on board the bus witnessed the alleged assault and confronted the suspect, who fled the bus on foot,” said a release in July.

Metro Vancouver Transit Police say investigators were able to identify the suspect and arrest him.
