29-Year-Old Man Charged in Fashion District Shooting Rampage

A recent arrest has been made in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in the bustling Fashion District of Toronto two months ago, resulting in one man being hospitalized. According to Toronto police, on the evening of June 24, an individual arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

The investigation revealed that a confrontation between two men in a vehicle near Portland Street and King Street West escalated, leading to one of them being shot in the stomach. The injured man then reportedly tried to flee but was allegedly struck by the same vehicle that fled the scene afterwards. Fortunately, the 25-year-old victim received medical treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

In a recent development on August 28, law enforcement officers conducted a search at a residence in the Lawrence Avenue and Scarlett Road vicinity, resulting in the apprehension of a suspect. Ali Hassan Tifow, a 29-year-old resident of Toronto, has been charged with multiple offenses including discharging a firearm with intent, possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and robbery with an offensive weapon.
