As summer draws to a close and kids prepare to head back to school, there’s one final long weekend to savor in Vancouver. From exciting events to some necessary closures, here’s what you need to know for the Labour Day weekend:

Looking for some fun on Monday, Sept. 1? Here’s what’s open in Vancouver:

– The PNE Fair wraps up with a bang, featuring a performance by Rainbow Kitten Surprise at the Pacific Coliseum from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
– The Vancouver Art Gallery will welcome visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., following its summer schedule until Sept. 2.
– Catch a movie at Cineplex or Landmark movie theatres.
– Explore the wonders of Science World from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
– Dive into marine life at the Vancouver Aquarium from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
– Delve into Vancouver’s history at the Museum of Vancouver from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On the transportation front:
– Buses, SkyTrains, and SeaBuses will run on a Sunday-Holiday schedule.
– The West Coast Express train will not be in service.

Need to run some errands?
– Save-on-Foods will be open as usual.
– BC Liquor stores will operate from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If shopping is on your agenda:

Please note that the following community centers will be closed:
